Course Description
How many robots did you encounter today? How many times did you find or access information in a digital format? Chances are you used over a dozen technology based tools before lunch. Imagine what inventions have yet to be discovered. How will your student play a part in the future of innovation?
In Robotics, we will explore how to work as a team to create, code, and solve problems that are part of our daily lives. Using SPIKE Prime kits and SCRATCH based coding, your student will have the chance to create devices that can recognize and react to colors, count and record information, or even join together to make an epic flash mob. But more importantly than the robots and the coding, your student will learn persistence, how to look at a problem from a different angle, and how to have FUN!
This course is designed to inspire creativity and innovation. While there is no required homework each week, optional assignments will be provided for students and parents to utilize as best fits in their homeschool. These prompts will focus on written reflections from the week’s work, designs for upcoming projects, and potential scientific research related to their projects.
