Course Description
COMPUTER APPLICATIONS During first semester, students will learn essential computer applications and Internet technology skills for personal, academic, and professional success. Through Google applications, students will learn to create documents, spreadsheets, presentations, forms, online meetings, etc. Each student will use their assigned TCC Gmail account for this class.

DIGITAL DESIGN During the second semester, students will learn the principles and fundamentals of design in a way that is practical, engaging, and hands-on. Mrs. Rachel Williams teaches through real-life professional simulations, where students design logos for hypothetical businesses and tackle creative time management challenges. Along the way, students learn color theory, typography, visual hierarchy, branding, and more.
Homework
First semester, our class time will be spent exploring Google Applications and discussing how these tools are best utilized for our personal and professional growth. Students will follow the instructor’s projected screen in real time on their computer while we dig into each application. Digital safety will be discussed in different ways on a regular basis.
Second semester, our class time will be spent exploring Digital Design principles through Canva. Students will follow the instructor’s projected screen in real time on their computer while we dig into each principle of design. Various design projects will be assigned throughout the semester.
Approximate time for homework each week outside of class: 60 minutes (only if the classwork is not completed during class time)
