Our class will include at-home reading assignments, note-taking, weekly discussions,
and special projects. Students will participate in vibrant discussions about government
and respond to the material with short answer questions, essays, and projects. We'll
study the foundations and structure of government that will equip them to make
informed decisions. This course also incorporates an assigned book reading spanning
the duration of the class, called Compassion & Conviction, which will address the role
and responsibility of Christians in politics.
This class will get hands-on with three larger special projects throughout the year: mock
election, mock trial, and mock legislature (all to be held in the classroom during class
time). Students will experience the inner workings of government by practicing how
government works in real time.
