Course Description
Principles of Leadership is not about titles or popularity—it’s about learning how to influence others, lead with integrity, and make a difference. This course blends real leadership theory with hands-on experiences, meaningful conversations, guest speakers, and service projects that allow students to practice leadership, not just talk about it.
Students will study what makes leaders effective (and ineffective), learn how values shape decisions, and develop skills in communication, teamwork, and perseverance. Through workshops, real-world scenarios, and reflection, students will discover their own leadership potential and learn how to use it in school, relationships, and future careers.
The course follows a monthly rhythm:
· Weeks 1 & 3: Lecture, discussion, and interactive leadership workshops
· Week 2: Guest speakers who model leadership in a variety of fields
· Week 4: Collaborative service projects and student-led initiatives
Students will be challenged to identify their personal values, recognize their leadership style, and design meaningful ways to positively impact their school and community. This course emphasizes growth, self-awareness, and practical leadership skills that students can use now—and for the rest of their lives.
