  • Course Description

Students enrolled in this ONE SEMESTER course will be split into teams to prepare to compete in the 2023 First Lego League (FLL) Challenge season.  There are three main categories for the competition.

First, teams will be designing and coding a robot that will compete to see how many points they can score in the Robot Game.

Second, they will be asked to create an engineering design notebook that will record their design and coding process.

Lastly, the students will be tasked with creating or improving an innovative project related to the theme for this year’s season.

  • Required Books & Materials
  • Composition notebook

  • Pencils

  • Classwork / Homework

Class time will be used to plan, practice, and prepare for our regional competition in November (date to be determined).

At our Wednesday meetings, we will work on robot designs and programming.  We will also work on formatting the engineering design notebook, brainstorming ideas for the Innovation Project, and any other tasks that need to be completed prior to the competition.

At home, students will be asked to continue work not completed in class.  This includes (but is not limited to) designing robot features, writing code, researching information for their team project, interviewing professionals in fields related to our project, writing scripts for presentations, creating props and posters for displays.

Approximate time for homework each week outside of class - 1-2 hours
**An additional practice close to competition may be needed.

Contact the instructor if you have additional questions.
