Course Description
Intro to Forensic Science from a Biblical Worldview curriculum was developed to teach students how to use keen observational techniques, understand the disciplines that make up forensic science, and know how to apply them. In every lesson, applicable Scripture is woven throughout the text, along with practical labs, and review materials. Case studies are included to raise the student’s awareness of some of the most famous crimes in history, both solved and unsolved, while examining real investigative practices, time frames, and judicial results. to seeking first the Kingdom of God. ● Provide students with a foundational understanding of the principles and practices of Forensic Science
● Learn what it takes to collect, analyze, and interpret evidence from various crime scenes
● Give students a more accurate understanding of the criminal justice system than the media generally portrays
● Apply the scientific method to both fictitious and real life criminal cases while learning about various forensic disciplines such as fingerprinting, DNA analysis, fiber burn analysis, toxicology, facial reconstruction, ballistics and so many more!
While our time in class together will be a lot of fun, it’s important that students who sign up for this class understand the sanctity of life. This class includes the study of criminal cases and topics that aren’t normally discussed in a classroom. Although these topics will be dealt with delicately, their content is unavoidable and it is critical that students rise to the level of maturity required for this class. Our textbook, Intro to Forensic Science, comes from a Biblical Worldview and that is what will be taught in the classroom.
