Course Description
This course is designed to expose students to the language and cultures of the French-speaking world and build upon the skills learned in French 1. As a class, we will work on developing proficiency in French and developing the essential language skills of speaking, reading, writing, and listening comprehension. Various aspects of the culture of French-speaking people will be introduced and discussed. The course will use various media and materials based on the D’Accord 2 textbook. Students will constantly use and recycle skills and materials. They will deepen their knowledge of French and Francophone culture and increase their communication skills.
This class meets once a week, and therefore your student must spend time every day when not at TCC reviewing vocabulary, pronunciation, and notes taken in class, as well as practice on various websites assigned.

Classwork / Homework
Because speaking and listening are essential to language learning, class participation is an expected part of the course. Perfection is not the initial goal, but participation is! Students will also be expected to come to class prepared with any papers printed at home and needed for class participation. Therefore a functional printer is a necessity. Your student will also be expected to SPEAK French to their partner, group, or class, depending on the activity.
The class will consist of practice, note-taking, and various activities to reinforce French vocabulary, language, and grammar. Students will be quizzed each week to reinforce learning of vocabulary.
