  • Course Description

Problem-solving and teamwork is the name of the game for this second-semester course. We will incorporate simple, age-appropriate science and math concepts into each month's STEM theme. Students will work cooperatively to brainstorm, design, and create solutions to challenges. This is a highly interactive, brain-stimulating adventure with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics for young minds!

Theme Unit Examples (subject to change):

  • North Pole Adventures - Create a designer igloo, construct a polar bear trap, etc.

  • You've Lost Your Marbles - Construct a marble maze or create a marble game

  • Race Against the Clock - Compete with other teams on timed challenges

  • Great Treehouse Challenge - Design and build the ultimate mini treehouse!

  • Classwork/Homework

Students will work in cooperative groups to asses the given problem, design and build creations, and test solutions. We'll use craft supplies, recycled materials, tons of "junk," oodles of hot glue, and tape!

There is no required homework for the class, but extension activities will be given for optional completion at home.

  • Required Books & Materials
  • Pencil

The instructor will provide a journal for class.
